INTERLIBRARY LOAN (ILL)

 

HOW TO USE THE SERVICE

Users may ask for an interlibrary loan by means of one of the following ways:

  • logging in to the catalogue's personal space with his/her SCU username and password and filing the dedicated form (step by step guide available at the moment only in Italian)
  • by email writing to ill.bem@unito.it
  • asking directly to the qualified office.

In the very moment you ask for it, the services rules are given for accepted by the user. For every request title, author, year of edition of the desired item, your name and surname, telephone number and email and student number are all mandatory fields.

The lenght of the loan amounts to 20 days. A few days before the due date you can ask a renew of the loan can be asked to the lending library.

You may ask up to 5 items per week. Counting the items includes those ones the users already has on loan.

 

REFUNDS

When the item(s) are delivered to the user, he/she is compelled to reimbourse the service taxes and costs according to the price list in force. The due amount muast be given cash to the library; at thye same time the library will issue a receipt for the payment.

PENALTIES

Shouldn't the user give back the items received on loan within the due date, he/she will be banned from the service for a period of time at least twice the delay time.  In the eventuality the item is lost by the user or he/she returns it damaged, he/she is compelled to buy and give the library another item equal to lost one (same edition or another edition in agreement with the Library. In the eventuality the item received on loan is never returned, the Library reserves the right to summon the user.

LOAN LIMITATIONS

Regarding the ILL items on loan the Library abide to the loan rules and limitations given by the lending library. (i.e. on site reading).

 

DOCUMENT DELIVERY (DD)

 

HOW TO USE THE SERVICE

The Library participates in the NILDE network for the documents interchange among libraries. To use the service users are requested to register to the NILDE service.

How to register on NILDE network:

  1. connect from any workstation or personal computer to the following website: http://nilde.bo.cnr.it
  2. select the language of your choice in the lower left side of the page
  3. select "Institutional (IDEM/GARR)" and then "Università di Torino" in the following drop down menu
  4. log in with your UNITO username and password
  5. fill the form with your personal data, select the the library you refer to and take note of the service rules and regulations (all this is to be done only the first time, when you register with the service)
  6. fill the request form specifying the data of the desired article.

AS an alternative to the procedure above you can send an email to dd.bem@unito.it or ask directly to the qualified office in the library. We give implicitly for accepted the service rules in both cases.

In the eventuality you submit your request by Nilde network, you can follow your request practice on line, but you will always come to the library to collect the copies when they are available.
